The EU has recently published a new draft implementing regulation setting out the type-approval rules in Europe for autonomous vehicles. The framework being established is an important first step that will have an impact on the direction of the industry and for the future of this new technology in Europe. It will shape the outcome of testing and development for years to come. This webinar is brought to you by Hogan Lovells, in partnership with Autonomy Paris.
The webinar will include a brief presentation from Patrick Ayad, Partner and Global Leader of Mobility and Transportation at Hogan Lovells on ‘The Road to Autonomous Vehicles’. It will then be followed by a high level panel discussion on what Europe needs to prioritise.
Key questions that will be discussed:
1. How do we ensure innovation, competition and partnership are driving the best approach?
2. What does this draft implementing regulation mean for the future of fully autonomous vehicles in Europe?
3. Why is a flexible approach so important? Will the draft implementing regulation create a competitive and innovative European marketplace?
