IoT security has become an increasingly hot topic around the world. More attacks and more use of IoT lead to greater risk. In response, governments have enacted new regulations that impose minimum security requirements even for small IoT devices. These can be a headache for IoT system designers. Fortunately, the new Matter standard addresses many of these requirements. Beyond that, efforts aim to create a unified certification program that will permit IoT products to get one certification that satisfies all of the requirements at a reasonable cost. As we will see, raising the bar for IoT security matters!
