This briefing will describe the Army’s push for modular open system architecture approaches across all C5ISR systems, to include current S&T activities and Acquisitions plans. CMOSS comprises a family of standards that together allow for system functional decomposition across clearly defined hardware and software boundaries. It further provided standardize protocols for resource management and tasking. CMOSS is the Army’s instantiation of the Joint Sensor Open System Standards specification.
