As moms and entrepreneurs, we have a LOT on our plates. Ok, that’s an understatement. Our calendars are stuffed fuller than a turkey. Our to-do lists have to-do lists, with more layers of interdependent timelines than the film Inception. And it feels like there is NO time to get it all done.
We are a culture of incessantly busy people. We’ve all burned the candle at both ends to make things happen for our families or clients. And when we first launched our business, we may have worn all the hats, just to get things going.
But at a certain point, you reach a ceiling, beyond which you can’t grow (and get your life back) without help. Even if you’re not quite there, what could you do, Queen, with an extra 1, 2, or 3 hours a day?
The tricky part is—what I’ve witnessed in myself and the women I’ve worked with—is that wow, it’s hard for us to ask for help AND receive it. (Almost as hard as following the plot of Inception!)
We’ll wait until we’re overwhelmed before hiring someone or upgrading our systems to automate a repetitive task. Or be willing to hire team members, but hesitate to hire support at home (or vice versa). Or hire someone, but then be disappointed by the results. Can you relate?
As I shifted from freelance writer to CEO of a successful copy agency, I had to learn how to embrace my inner Queen. I made every mistake in the book along the way. And I’m going to share what I learned with you. Join me on Tuesday, November 23 at 12p CT, for my workshop on embracing your Queenly right to the highest levels of support and ease.
