Norm has successfully defended more than 1,000 OHS, workers’ compensation, environmental, regulatory and criminal charges, and has written many of the leading books in his field, including Canadian Health and Safety Law, Canadian Emergency Management and Response Manual, Workplace Health and Safety Crimes (4th ed.) and Halsbury’s Laws of Canada Workplace Health & Safety. He was the first lawyer in Canada to achieve the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (“CRSP”) accreditation. He is a frequent conference speaker, edits the firm’s quarterly OHS newsletter, “Do Diligence” and is the longest serving Judge in the prestigious Canada’s Safest Employers annual event.

Tom Cecich is president of TFC & Associates a safety, health and environmental management consulting firm, and also serves as a strategic advisor for Avetta. He was previously vice president of EHS Global Business Support at the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline also held safety management positions at IBM and Allied Chemical Corporations.

He served as the 102nd president of the American Society of Safety Engineers and is an ASSE Fellow, the Society’s highest honor. He was also the past president of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
