Tammy Jones, PhD, RN, NE-BC, is the Associate Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Perioperative Officer at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Tammy received her doctoral degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Jones has 27 years of health care experience in a variety of specialties and leadership capacities. In her current role in the only Level 1 Trauma Center and academic medical center in the state of Arkansas, she has clinical, operational and financial responsibility for 28 operating rooms, the endoscopy lab, anesthesia evaluation center, procedural scheduling, system-wide sterile processing/high-level disinfection and all other perioperative care areas.
During her tenure as Chief Perioperative Services Officer, institutional goals for efficiency, utilization, clinical and financial outcomes have been realized through harnessing automated, data driven strategies and innovative approaches that drive performance of all members of the surgical team. Dr. Jones is committed to transparency of data and information sharing among all perioperative stakeholders and believes this is necessary to achieve full partnerships and shared-decision making among surgeons, anesthesia providers and every member of the perioperative team. She is passionate about ensuring the delivery of patient-centered care where this philosophy drives every decision made and action taken by the team
