Weekend One - Introduction to rules, skills, degree of difficulty and basic execution
This first weekend can be done from the comfort of your home through webinar style. Recommended for parents, family members, and provincial level athletes and coaches. Optional for National level coaches and athletes.
Approximate schedule:
Friday January 3rd 6-9pm - Introduction of skills and how to write FIG
Saturday January 4th 9-12pm - General rules and CJP penalties, 12-6pm Degree of Difficulty and routine scripting
Sunday January 5th - 9am-6pm - Execution introduction and practice on all three events (recommend for all participants*)
*Those who choose not to participate in this online portion, must have a thorough in-depth understanding of current Canadian and FIG rules and degree of difficulty. It is highly recommended to still participate in the execution day.
Weekend Two - Review of all judging roles, degree of difficult and execution, and exams
Calgary (Location TBD) - Saturday January 18th 9am-6pm and Sunday January 19th 9am-6pm
Edmonton (Phoenix Gymnastics Club) - Saturday January 25th 9am-6pm and Sunday January 26th 9am-6pm
This second weekend will be set up similar to a condensed fast track course. There will be a very basic overview of rules, degree of difficulty, execution and penalties, and then exams will be written. All participants must attend.
Saturday
9-11am General rule reviews and CJP written exams on all three events
11-6pm Degree of difficulty review, DD written and video exams on all three events
Sunday
9-12pm Double Mini Trampoline execution practice, execution written and video exam, CJP video exam
12-3pm Tumbling execution practice, execution written and video exam, CJP video exam
3-6pm Trampoline execution practice, execution written and video exam, CJP video exam
There will be an additional opportunity to practice execution and degree of difficulty at Alberta Cup #1. Currently, Level 1 and 2 are scheduled for Saturday January 10th. Any of the participants are welcome to attend a “shadow” panel ran by Jessica. We will review execution on single skills, entire routines, degree of difficulty and position recognition, and CJP calls and penalties.
