Associate Professor of Nutritional Physiology at Penn State University
Kevin Harvatine is professor of nutritional physiology at Penn State University. He grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania and received his B.S. in Animal Science from Penn State. He earned an M.S. from Michigan State University and Ph.D. from Cornell University. His area of expertise is effect of nutrition on milk synthesis. Currently Dr. Harvatine investigates milk fat depression, fat supplements and the daily patterns of intake and milk synthesis. His lab conducts experiments ranging from applied dairy nutrition to mechanistic molecular biology experiments. He has authored or co-authored over 115 peer-reviewed publications and has spoken extensively at regional, national and international conferences.
