Cash graduated with a 2.1 in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Durham University and has a masters in Investigative Journalism from City University, London.

James Palmer
Partner and Former Chair, Herbert Smith Freehills
James Palmer is a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills and former Chair of the firm. He focusses on corporate and regulatory work. He has nearly 30 years experience of working with Government and regulators on policy issues, in particular on competitiveness issues. Among other roles he has Chaired FCA's Listing Advisory Panel and was a member of its wholesale Markets Panel. He is a member of the Leadership Council of TheCityUK and an adviser to Chatham House's New Capital Consensus initiative. He was also an adviser to John Kay's Review in 2010-11 of long termism in equity markets.

Kate Dawson
Capital Markets & Digital Finance Sector Head, KPMG
Kate is a Director in KPMG’s EMA FS Regulatory Insights Centre (RIC) leading on Capital Markets & Digital Finance regulation, publishing analysis, providing insights and SME consultancy support on regulatory change to KPMG financial services clients. Kate has been monitoring and understanding the impact of EU and UK regulatory changes such as Brexit, LIBOR cessation, MiFIR/MIFID II review and the growing regulatory focus on financial market infrastructure. Kate has also been closely following developments in the regulation of digital finance, especially in the area of cryptoassets, DLT and artificial intelligence. Prior to KPMG, Kate has over 15 years experience working in Compliance and Operations areas of global investment banks as well as supervising them while at the UK FCA.

Charlotte Crosswell OBE
Chair of the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT)
Charlotte has been involved in capital markets, fintech and technology throughout her career - as CEO, Chair, Board Advisor and Non-Executive Director. Prior to CFIT, Charlotte was Chair and Trustee of Open Banking and was also CEO of the fintech industry body, Innovate Finance. In this role, she supported the work of Sir Ron Kalifa in delivering the strategic fintech review (“The Kalifa Review”). She works closely with entrepreneurs, financial services firms, academia, government and regulators on fintech advocacy and strategy. Charlotte received an OBE for her contribution to financial services in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021. She believes firmly in a diversity and innovation-first approach.
