Financial News talks to JPMorgan's international consumer head Sanjiv Somani, now head of Nutmeg, on why the bank is interested in digital wealth management, the opportunities ahead for managing investors' money, and how the market is transforming on both sides of the pond.

Sanjiv Somani
CEO, Chase and Nutmeg UK
Sanjiv Somani is CEO of International Consumer Banking (ICB) U.K. and was Chief Operating Officer for ICB prior to that. He has 25+ years’ experience in Financial Services across Retail Banking, Wealth Management and Investment Banking.

Mr. Somani has been with ICB since its inception in September 2018 and has been involved in all aspects of building and launching the business. ICB currently trades under the brand names of Chase for banking and Nutmeg for managed investments in the U.K.

Mr. Somani joined JPMorgan Chase in 2016 and was Head of Client and Employee Experience for the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and a member of the CIB CAO Management Team.

Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Mr. Somani held various global leadership roles over ~20 years with Deutsche Bank, UBS, Citibank in senior Operations, Tech, Finance and Strategy functions; and at McKinsey & Company advising financial services and technology companies.

Mr. Somani holds an MBA from JBIMS, Mumbai University and a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai University.

In addition, Mr. Somani serves on the Board of 10x (core banking fintech company) and on the Board of Trustees of a family foundation supporting various charitable causes in India.
