Nordstrom 28-year career:
• 1973 Started while at the University of Washington, working part-time selling Ladies and Men’s Shoes. 1975 graduated from the U of W school of business.
• 1980 began a full-time career as a Buyer, Divisional Merchandise Manager and deeply involved in the development of the Nordstrom Product Group, retiring in 2002 as Divisional Vice President of NPG. In 2002 the NPG group developed, sourced and delivered 27.5% of all merchandise sold at Nordstrom.
2004 co-founded men’s & boy’s sportswear line TailorByrd, selling independent and national major retailers. Sold interest to co- founding partner Chris Crowley.
2007 co-founded the updated traditional men’s & boy’s wear line Thomas Dean & Co, with partner Thomas Bonomo, which is still operational. Thomas Dean & Co., LLC has sold in as many as 400+ retail store customers in North America and has an e-commerce store since 2008.
2014 co-founded modern men’s wear collection Good Man Brand which is sold at Nordstrom, Amazon, premium independent retailers and an e-commerce store. Sold interest to partner Russell Wilson on April 2020.
Dean, his wife Trudy and two daughters have been Bellevue residents for 31 years.
