World’s largest New Zealand’s premier equestrian competition, the annual Land Rover Horse of the Year, took place across six eventful days at the A&P Showgrounds in Hawkes Bay last month. With over 1,400 riders and 1,800 horses competing for lucrative titles via a panel of inspirational female judges, the event is the highlight of the equestrian calendar.

Land Rover is proud to support Kiwi equestrians of many divisions, including Tokyo 2021 competitors and previous Olympic winners. This year marked Land Rover’s third year as the naming rights sponsor.

“It’s been brilliant to see the event evolve and grow over the years,” says Steve Kenchington, general manager of Land Rover New Zealand. “Being able to connect with our customers, the other sponsoring brands and the equestrian community is always a memorable experience for the team.”

Land Rover VIP guests were invited to a live Q&A with the riders and category winners, all while enjoying the best local food and beverages from the Land Rover garden marquee as they watched the equestrian action.
