Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California is a busy and highly rated hospital, with an annual Emergency Department census of about 85,000 visits per year. Our program received initial accreditation in September 2018.
The mission of the Eisenhower Health Emergency Medicine Residency Program is to provide trainees with a broad-based learning program in an environment of inquiry to prepare them for independent practice in the specialty. The residency program will assist residents in developing competencies necessary to become outstanding clinicians capable of managing diverse patient populations and to become leaders of and advocates for their communities.
Eisenhower Health has two well established residency programs; Internal Medicine and Family Medicine as well a a fellowship in Sports Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Geriatrics. Other residency programs in planning include: psychiatry, neurology and general surgery. Fellowships under consideration are: cardiology, GI and infectious disease. Services available at our facility include a comprehensive stroke center (STEMI center) with 24 hour cath-lab availability, 24-hour operating room availability and call schedule coverage for a broad range of specialty consultants. Eisenhower EM residents will spend the majority of their time at Eisenhower Health, but will also rotate at UCSD Health, Desert Regional Medical Center, and El Centro Regional Medical Center.
Eisenhower has earned national recognition for quality in patient care as well as in cardiology and orthopedics among other service lines. Our diverse, experienced and dedicated EM faculty are very excited about this new dynamic and comprehensive emergency medicine residency program in Southern California. We are committed to building a high quality program, and are confident in our ability to provide excellent training.

I planned on being an Emergency Physician at Eisenhower ever since shadow here during college. I went to medical school at USC and residency at Loma Linda and have them started here at Eisenhower since 2014. I was lucky enough to be here at the very beginning of our efforts to start an EM residency program. We have recruited an amazing team who have built our new EM program that started in 2018. Our program is growing in leaps and bounds with our EM resident benefiting from unopposed access to a large volume high acuity ED census. We are a 3 year program with 6 residents per year and are now recruiting to match our 3rd class of residents.

I am here for the residents! Watching them change and grow over the three years is so exciting. I see myself as the "Mom" of the group and my number one roll is their "supporter in chief." I want everything wonderful for them. They are so loving and giving and they reward me in so many ways. Each is unique in their own way, but they have come together as a family. Our PD and two APD's are strong, smart and giving. They truly care about the residents as people and the great doctors they are helping them to become. I am so grateful for the residents and the most wonderful faculty ever!
