One route to working in the cinema is going to film school. The UK’s National Film and Television School (NFTS) is one of the most prestigious in the world, with graduates continually featured in the Oscars, BAFTAs, and festival picks. But what does it take to keep the offers, ideas, and opportunities coming, to build on that great start, and keep being successful?
We catch up with a panel of individuals from different disciplines, each a recipient of the Christie Most Promising Student Award upon graduating from the NFTS. Colorist Michael Pearce, Visual Effects MA, Lisa Kenney, Directing Animation MA, and Andrew Oldbury, Producing MA, will share their advice on success with you. The session is moderated by renowned film executive Lizzie Francke, who is head of the NFTS’s Directing Fiction MA program after an illustrious career including exec producing over 80 films, serving as director of the Edinburgh Film Festival and editor at large at the BFI.
