SAME Small Business COI Webinar: Are You Prepared for the Proposed Changes to the Davis-Bacon Act?

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Federal government contractors face a bevy of regulations regarding the compensation owed to their employees. Construction and engineering companies, in particular, must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act. However, these rules are changing in a major way. On March 18, 2022, the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Wage and Hour Division published a proposed rule titled Updating the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts Regulations (DBRA). The released document is over 400 pages long with 50 regulatory provisions and is DOL’s first comprehensive regulatory review of the DBRA in over 40 years. Understanding these changes and the potential impact to the way you do business is the first step toward compliance.

In this webinar, government contracts attorneys Matthew Schoonover and John Mattox will discuss the proposed changes to the Davis-Bacon Act and key issues relating to contractor compliance. Discussion topics will also include, among other things:

• What a proposed reversion to pre-1983 methodology for determining whether a wage rate is prevailing, also referred to as the “30 percent rule,” means for your business?

• How the proposed rule changes significantly revise “site of work” provisions?

• Which service providers may now be covered under DBRA proposed requirements?

• How you can be held responsible by operation of law to comply with contract clauses that have not been included or incorporated into your prime contract?
