He is a recognized expert in facility compliance with NESHAP and FIFRA requirements, greenfield sterilization plant design, and retrofitting existing facilities for fugitive emissions capture and abatement. Ben collaborates with clients in the medical device, chemical, and manufacturing sectors to prepare specifications for sterilization chambers, abatement systems, and other essential equipment. His expertise in EtO emission streams, fugitive capture, air monitoring systems, and Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) ensures project success. Ben's upfront studies provide clients with options to achieve environmental compliance and safe operations.

Director Mechanical Engineering | Pond & Company
James Preves leads Pond's development of efficient Mechanical and HVAC design solutions for modern sterilization operations. His team creates detailed designs and construction drawings for phased, safe project implementation, preventing unintentional shutdowns. With significant experience in over 80 Ethylene Oxide (EtO) projects, James coordinates sterilization chamber, pollution control, and monitoring equipment. As a subject matter expert, he develops solutions for EtO source categories and EPA control requirements. His designs have advanced the use of Permanent Total Enclosures (PTE) and compliance with regulated emission streams, including chamber vents, aeration room exhaust, and fugitive emission capture.

Jonathan oversees field operations and application development for workplace, fenceline, and mobile settings. Before working at Picarro, he worked at the National Center for Atmospheric Research and NOAA, focusing primarily on airborne monitoring of pollutant gases using research aircraft and instrumented balloons. Jonathan has particular expertise in the monitoring of ethylene oxide in medical device sterilizer facilities, including the evaluation of abatement system workflows and their destruction efficiencies.
