Domestic Violence & Protection Order

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
“Overcoming abuse doesn’t just happen, It takes positive steps every day. Let today be the day you start to move forward.” ― Assunta Harris

Domestic violence can include physical violence, verbal assault, intimidation, threats, sexual abuse and financial control. It is a pattern of physically and/or emotionally abusive behavior used to control someone with whom the abuser has an intimate or family relationship.

Domestic violence is a crime that affects people from all walks of life. According to the CDC, 1 in 4 women and nearly 1 in 10 men experience intimate partner violence (physical, sexual, or psychological harm from a spouse, partner, ex-spouse, or ex-partner) at some point in their lifetime.

An abusive person will use both physical violence and emotional abuse to manipulate and control their partner. The abuse occurs frequently even if it doesn't happen every day. The violence can take place in many different contexts, including the home, school, the workplace, the neighborhood, or online. It can happen to anyone regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or economic status.

In this webinar we will be discussing the role and function of a Protection Order as it relates to helping persons who is a victim of abuse.

Take this opportunity to learn and ask questions to better understand the legal aspects as it pertains to a protection order and domestic violence.
