Over the next few days, South Africa’s government is in negotiations about whether or not to continue the legalized captive breeding of lions in order to export their bones and body parts to the Asian market. The Department of Environmental Affairs has already tabled an increased quota of lion skeletons to 1500 exports every year. Lions are also being bred for cub-petting, walking with tourists, and blood sport (“canned lion hunting”) in a whole scale cuddle-to-kill industry.

This has to end.

The decision will be made by early next week (1st week of September 2018).

This timing is absolutely crucial for the future of our lions. Join us in this Global Prayer in support of lions globally and specifically in South Africa, in achieving their right to freedom.

We are focussing on attaining freedom for the lions to live safely in their natural habitat; freedom to be treated with love and respect, and freedom in upholding their rightful place as apex representatives in Nature. When we protect the Lion, we protect the Ecosystem. When we save the Lion, we save the Earth.

    Wynter Worsthorne
    Wynter is based in Cape Town and has been practicing as a Professional Animal Communicator since 2002. She is the author of "Where is Biggles?" and teaches introduction and advanced workshops internationally. Her deep love is for African Wildlife. She works closely with Baboon Matters Trust and the Global White Lion Protection Trust who she supports through the global meditations and prayers, right here on Big Marker. She is one of the few people invited to facilitate groups at Tsau Conservancy in South Africa where the rare and sacred White Lions roam free in a protected area of their endemic homeland.
    In 2010 she founded AnimalTalk Africa's online Academy, which has developed into a wonderful like-minded community of people learning how to communicate with the animals.
