Kris Cunningham never expected to move to Panama in retirement. But she and her husband did just that about a decade ago and live happily in a city of about 83,000 people near the Pacific Ocean. She'll discuss her experiences with Silvia Ascarelli, the author of MarketWatch's "Where Should I Retire?" column, and answer questions from the audience.

Kris is from NY and lived in various places, the last being Florida for 17 years. She is married to Joel, and she has two daughters and four grandchildren who live in the USA. They were very happy in Florida but nursing was increasingly stressful and she was anxious to retire. But, economically, retirement was impossible anywhere they would want to live, so they had to look for alternatives.

Panama looked like it would work for them so in 2012 they took the plunge and made the move. It has worked out far better than she ever imagined! They've lived there almost 10 years and plan to stay.
