Steve Jones
Steve Jones brings over 30 years of powersports industry experience, helping dealers bring added sales to their business in all departments.
He began his career working at dealerships as service manager, parts manager and sales manager. He also raced motorcycles for over 20 years.
Following his dealership experience, Steve spent seven years as a Technical Advisor for the motorcycle/ATV division of American Suzuki. He was responsible for technical training, customer relations, warranty failure analysis, and product research in a multi-state territory. He was also a part of the development team for the Suzuki Service Management program.
Next, he became the Polaris Distributor GSM for Western Power Sports. He developed the distributor’s wholesale and retail sales and marketing programs, while managing a field sales and internal parts and service staff.
He was recruited by Polaris Industries and spent the next 15 years as a District Manager.
From 2003 to 2017, Steve was the General Manager, Senior Projects Manager, an instructional designer, facilitator and consultant for Gart Sutton & Associates, Inc. He also conducted market feasibility studies and developed effective training programs and materials for many of the major manufacturers.
He provides management training sessions for dealer principals and general managers as well as for individual department managers. Steve currently is the president of SJ Consulting, Inc. and work as an independent business consultant and trainer for industry manufacturers, suppliers and dealers.
