Our session’s mission is to provide information for high school counselors to use when helping international student-athletes assess their athletic and scholarship recruitability to US colleges. We'll look at the recruitment timeline, who starts what when and how, the responsibilities of the student, high school counselor, and the student’s club/team coach and the college coach. Counselors will gain a mini-set of tools and tips needed to help student-athletes to best prepare for the parallel processes of applying to colleges and self advocating to become recruited to play a college sport at an institution that is a best-fit in sport, academics, socially and financially. Our session is designed to be interactive and we encourage active participation and recommend that participants have internet access via a laptop/desktop computer AND a cell phone or iPad for optimal experience.
