Donna serves on several influential boards, including Wound Practice and Research, where she is the current Book Editor, and the International Wound Infection Institute. She has previously held leadership roles as the past secretary for Wounds Australia and president of its WA branch. Additionally, she is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Venous Leg Ulcer Advisory Panel and has an appointment with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).

Her dedication to the field has been acknowledged through multiple accolades, including the Coloplast Biatain® Literary Award in 2016 and being named a Life Member of Wounds Australia for her outstanding contributions. Since 2015, he has been cooperating with the EB Polska Foundation, developing the possibilities of modern wound treatment in patients with epidermolysis bullosa (EB).
