Donna serves on several influential boards, including Wound Practice and Research, where she is the current Book Editor, and the International Wound Infection Institute. She has previously held leadership roles as the past secretary for Wounds Australia and president of its WA branch. Additionally, she is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Venous Leg Ulcer Advisory Panel and has an appointment with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).

Her dedication to the field has been acknowledged through multiple accolades, including the Coloplast Biatain® Literary Award in 2016 and being named a Life Member of Wounds Australia for her outstanding contributions. Initiator, co-owner and medical director of the PODOS Wound Care Clinic. Specialist in general surgery, and angiology. Graduate of the Medical Academy in Warsaw. Actively interested in the problem of infections of difficult-to-heal wounds. He defended his doctoral dissertation: Epidemiology of infected chronic wounds in Poland. He leads a multidisciplinary team of over 80 people consisting of surgeons, diabetologists, orthopedists, nurses, physiotherapists, podiatrists, orthotist and dietician. Promoter of, among others, the technique of sterile wound debridement, antibiotic protection in wound treatment, intensive wound debridement in regional analgesia, outpatient NPWT therapy, outpatient skin grafts, Total Contact Cast type offloading or broadly understood limb rescue from amputation. Since 2015, he has been cooperating with the EB Polska Foundation, developing the possibilities of modern wound treatment in patients with epidermolysis bullosa (EB).
