Math Coach
As the Senior Program Associate/ Professional Developer/ Coach for the Suburban Cook County Mathematics Initiative, Nancy Mueller works to build the capacity of teachers, teacher leaders, and school leaders to support K-12 improved mathematics instruction and student learning, she designs and facilitates cross district professional development including curriculum specific professional development, and is a member of the PARCC Range finding team, serving a lead scorer.
As a Program Associate/Coach for the All Learn Mathematic Project, Mueller supported teachers implementing curricula, Connected Mathematics and Math Thematics through planning, observing and reflecting on classroom practice, and she engaged in action research on teacher questioning in Inquiry based classroom.
Currently, Nancy serves as the District Math Coach for River Forest School District in Illinois.

Math Coach
As the Senior Program Associate/ Professional Developer/ Metro Chicago Mathematics Initiative, Margie Pligge works with the team to nurture collaboration and improvement of mathematics teaching and learning within and across 32 Illinois school districts, she designs and develops professional learning opportunities to support the vision of Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, and works closely with individual districts to coach teachers. Margie currently works at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Global Math Department began as a group of teachers who knew each other through Twitter, math education blogs and Twitter Math Camp. Since 2012 The Global Math Department community has grown into a multi-faceted group of math educators who love to share their ideas related to teaching and learning mathematics. We recognize that as educators we are charged with promoting equity and access within mathematics instruction.
