This webinar will focus on a holistic approach to the medicinal, behavioural and practical options for the management of itch in atopic eczema. Itch is a devastating symptom that can greatly affect quality of life for the patient and their whole family. Itch needs to be addressed alongside eczema management.

The webinar will discuss psychological impact, assessment and treatment strategies, which can reduce itch, including emollients and medical treatment as well as psychological techniques, such as the cognitive behavioural approach, habit reversal.

    Julie is a Dermatology Lecturer Practitioner; with a background of 28 years as a dermatology clinical nurse specialist, currently working clinically once a week in primary care. She works independently and leads a master’s module at the University of Stirling. Her company Dermatology Education Partnership Ltd focuses on dermatology educational projects and training courses in practical dermatology. Julie works for skin support groups, including the National Eczema Society. Julie publishes widely in professional and health care journals; and is past editor of the BDNG Journal, Dermatological Nursing. She works on national projects, including the Psoriasis Setting Priorities Partnership project and the RCGP Spotlight tool kit. Julie is passionate about improving care and support for people with skin conditions through developing educational initiatives for both healthcare professionals and patients.
