Plenary 4 - Zero emissions logistics: opportunities for scaling up

Charles is Fare City’s founder and Editor. A qualified Architect, Charles has experience of working across a number of sectors including Construction, Public Policy and Journalism. Charles’ work in analysing user experiences of transport interchanges in both the UK and France, has informed his belief that city transport can be made to work harder in providing opportunities for the empowerment of the individual, in and around our cities.

Marion is an urban planner with an MSc in Regional and Urban Planning Studies from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Urban Policy from Sciences Po Paris. Since 2016, she has been managing research projects on new mobility services (car sharing, micromobility, ride hailing) and developing innovative transport policy strategies (free public transport, MaaS). Specialized in modal choice and behaviour change mechanisms, she developed 6t’s VTBC (voluntary travel behaviour change) app, ACCTIV. In addition to her work as project manager, she is a PhD candidate at the University of Oxford; her doctoral research explores the drivers of urban cycling in Japan, with a focus on the Greater Tokyo area.

Following her degree in Business Administration from St. Gallen University, Switzerland, Verena worked for over 15 years in logistics and the transport industry in Switzerland and the UK. In 2011 she was awarded the doctoral in engineering degree from Technical University in Berlin, Germany. Since 2010 she has been working in research and academics. Verena’s research focus is on the improvement of efficiency of the freight transport system, including the impact of technical and structural innovations. She has been working in cooperation with industry and municipalities on the topic of electric vehicles for freight and commercial transport and has led several highly innovative projects related to the topic.
