Ana M. Romero graduated in Astrophysics in 1989 and has a master degree in Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, both at the Complutense University, Madrid. In 1991, she joined the CIEMAT External Dosimetry Service to study the properties of thermoluminescent materials and its practical application to personal and environmental dosimetry of external radiation. She is currently the Head of the Dosimetry Service al CIEMAT, accredited according the ISO 17025 standard since 2012. She joined the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (Eurados) in 2005 as a member of the WG2 for the Harmonization of the Individual Monitoring in Europe. In Eurados she has been mainly involved in the organization of Eurados Intercomparisons for photon and beta personal dosemeters.
