Hannes studied Technical Physics at the Technical University GRAZ/Austria were he received his PhD 1994. Since 1991 he is employed at the Austrian Research Center Seibersdorf, now named Seibersdorf Labor GmbH where he was head of the radiation protection business unit until 2020.
He was responsible for design, test, calibration and verification of dosimetry systems including primary and secondary standards ion chambers, as well as active and passive dosimetry systems (whole body, extremity, eye lens and area dosemeters).
Hannes is member of the Organizing Group for EURADOS Intercomparisons since 2008 and coordinated 3 whole body and extremity dosemeter intercomparisons (IC2014, IC2015ext, IC2016). Hannes Stadtmann was member of the council of the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS) for 3 terms (2010-2019).
