Amanda Gunning is the Lead Stoma Care Nurse Specialist at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. She has a background in surgery, focusing on colorectal and urology procedures, and she has worked in stoma care since 2004. Amanda has worked as a stoma care nurse in a number of NHS hospitals, including Whipp’s Cross, Chelsea & Westminster and the Royal Marsden. She has been a Trustee for Colostomy UK and continues to work closely with the association, providing clinical support as required. Amanda regularly presents at national and international events and has a particular interest in research on topics including parastomal hernia prevention and management, as well as quality of life after stoma formation. She has a passion for providing high-quality, patient-focused care addresses the specific physical and psychological needs of individuals with a stoma.
