Rick is a historic preservation planner at Mead & Hunt, where he serves as a cultural resources practice leader. He has over 30 years of experience in preservation and cultural resources management, including historic resources surveys and evaluations, Section 106 compliance, archival documentation, and interpretive exhibits.
In addition to over two decades as a consultant, Rick previously worked as a historian for the Texas Department of Transportation’s Environmental Affairs Division and for the Texas Historical Commission, where he worked on Depression-era and historic road and bridge inventories. Rick has worked on projects across the United States, but primarily focuses on leading Mead & Hunt’s Oklahoma and Texas cultural resource projects. He led Mead & Hunt’s work on the award-winning Crossing the Mighty Red publication, chronicling the history and significance of the Red River crossings between the two states.
Rick is excited to share the story of the Chapman family and their innovative agricultural enterprises in both Texas and Oklahoma.
