Dr. Momen Wahidi
Bio
Dr. Wahidi received his medical degree from Damascus University and did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Indiana University, where he also served as a chief medical resident. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Duke University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in interventional pulmonology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wahidi served as the director of the Interventional Pulmonology program at Duke University Medical Center as well as multiple leadership roles within Duke University Health System.

Dr. Wahidi brings vast experience in healthcare operations, leadership, and management of change in a complex environment. In his role as medical director of Canning Thoracic Institute, he will help accelerate our impact, innovation, and outcomes to meet the growing patient demand for lung care.

As a renowned expert in interventional pulmonology, Dr. Wahidi is nationally and internationally recognized for his accomplishments in interventional pulmonology education, research, and clinical care. He has published landmark studies in bronchoscopy and pleural diseases and contributed to evidence-based guidelines from prestigious national organizations such as NCCN, CHEST, ATS and AABIP. Dr. Wahidi is the past president of the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP). He received the 2011 McLennan Award for Achievements in Interventional Pulmonology granted by the AABIP and the Pasqual Ciaglia Honor Lecture in Interventional Pulmonary Medicine from The American College of Chest Physicians in 2014.
