Machine Learning that Anyone can Master with Crosser and Weidmüller

My career started in the academic world where I got a PhD in physics by researching large scale data acquisition systems for physics experiments, such as the LHC at CERN. After leaving academia I have been working in several tech startups in different management positions over the last 20 years. In most of these positions I have stood with one foot in the R&D team and another in the product/business teams. My passion is learning new technologies, use it to develop innovative products and explain the solutions to end users, technical or non-technical.

Dr. Carlos Paiz Gatica is Product Manager in the Industrial Analytics business unit at the Weidmüller group, where he is responsible for customer-specific AI solutions and the Industrial AutoML product. The developments have received several awards, including the Industry 4.0 Innovation Award 2019 from the VDE and ZVEI and the German Excellence Award 2020 for the "Automated Machine Learning Tool". Mr. Paiz Gatica studied electrical engineering with focus on automation technology at the Instituto Tecnologico de Querétaro, Mexico. He then completed a master's degree on complex adaptive systems at Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden. He received his PhD in electrical engineering from Bielefeld University in 2011.

Dr.-Ing. Rolf Sohrmann has an academic background in industrial engineering, followed by a consulting career. After longer engagements in multinational industry players, he joined the Weidmüller Group in 2012. His first task was building up the solution business for selected industry segments, followed by a transformation stage for the overall industry segment business. Since 2018 he is responsible for business development in the Industrial Analytics & IoT business of Weidmüller.
