Presentation Description:
Executives, administrators, and managers face the difficult challenge of leading organizations and teams through economic uncertainty, increased competition, and growing polarization in society. The Winters Group, Inc. has identified that being an inclusive leader requires not only technical skills, and competency, but also The Physiology of Inclusion. The Physiology of Inclusion (TM) is a whole-body system and two-part approach to assess and raise your resilience, curiosity, and empathy so that you can lead inclusively and maintain your physical, emotional, and mental health, as well as how your organization can support. POI details how six components, sleeping, eating, exercising, thinking, being, and interacting, can be nurtured to improve your resiliency, curiosity, and empathy. The Physiology of Inclusion includes a voluntary assessment and questionnaire, models, and exercises participants can use to enhance their ability to lead diverse teams.
Takeaways:
The Physiology of Inclusion is particularly helpful for leaders who want to foster an inclusive culture and individuals who are addressing the stress, emotional toll, and self-doubt common to being a minority within a majority culture.
Participants will:
1. Use a questionnaire regarding the POI elements to address emotional fatigue, negative self talk, establishing boundaries, etc.
2. Learn practical tips to improve their resiliency, curiosity, and empathy. The session will include the opportunity for participants to develop and discuss their action plan
3. Complete models and exercises to lead more inclusively. The session will consist of many opportunities for participants to complete and discuss the material individually and within table groups.
