NSA and other IC agencies are increasingly reliant on cloud technologies and commercially-sustained cloud services. This is a profound shift in our mission support model, which will have long-term effects on how our systems are build, resourced, and protected. Even more importantly, many of our missions will rely on chains of systems with components in our agency datacenters and hosted on multiple commercial clouds. This talk will examine some security principles for cloud-hosted and ‘hybrid’ systems, with some considerations for sustainment and transition.
