    Associate Professor of History and African American Studies
    Dr. Ervin James III is a proud HBCU graduate of Tuskegee University. Dr. James has served as an Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at Paul Quinn College located in Dallas, Texas for 15 years. During his tenure at PQC, his scholarly research and writing contributions have been published by The Journal of African American History, The Journal of South Texas, and the Oxford University Press. Aside from research and teaching, Dr. James thoroughly enjoys engaging students in extracurricular activities that help enhance their educational experiences at PQC. He has served as a faculty lead for student study abroad trips to both Africa and Europe. He has served as the head coach for Paul Quinn’s Honda Campus All-Star Challenge team. He has also served as the faculty advisor for the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s campus chapter as well as the Alpha Chi Honor Society’s campus chapter. He even established an award-winning ”Heavenly Honey” Honeybee apiary on Paul Quinn’s We/Me campus farm as part of the college’s unique Federal Urban Work College Program. Dr. James strongly believes that rich and rewarding opportunities for student exposure and insight are vitally important.

    Senior Admissions Counselor
    Michaëlle Aristide is the Senior Admissions Counselor at Spelman College, where she has served for the past 3.5 years, overseeing the West Coast, Texas, and International Populations territories. As an international student who grew up in Haiti and South Africa, Michaëlle is passionate about improving the admissions process for international students. She is dedicated to helping others experience the transformative opportunities that studying in the U.S. can offer, while ensuring that Spelman remains a welcoming place for students from around the world.
