1. Holistic admissions - what is the holistic admissions process? What are the facets that admissions officers review?

2. Writing your essay(s) - how a student should approach the personal essay and supplements. Tips on writing, including what to do and what not to do.

3. Building your extracurricular profile - what is reported on the Activities list and what stands out for admissions officers. Tips for students in grades 9-11 on how they can better prioritize their extracurricular time.

    Zach Ogie is an Associate Director of Admission at Rice University in Houston, Texas. In his role, Zach serves as the Territory Manager for New England and Canada, leading recruitment efforts and reviewing all applications from these regions. Zach also oversees Rice's interview program, supervising over 40 student interviewers who assess applicants' fit with the university. As part of the Admission Committee, he has reviewed over 17,500 applications and personally interviewed over 100 prospective students. A San Diego native, Zach earned his degree from Chapman University, where he began his journey in higher education.
