The Canada & US SciVal and Scopus User Conference Series is taking place over three days this year. Designed with direct customer feedback, this virtual Conference shows users how to take full advantage of the features and functionalities of SciVal and Scopus.

Presentations will take place on November 15th and December 13th. The November presentations are on Scopus while the December presentations will concentrate on SciVal. Please register for one or both. Please note that each day requires a separate registration.

The third and final day of this user conference series (Dec. 13) will focus on SciVal. Presentations include a SciVal roadmap session featuring live demos and voting on future features, a masterclass on entities--what they are and how to get comfortable using them, and a tutorial on creating customized researcher lists based on bibliometric characteristics.

Emily J. Glenn, MSLS, is the Interim Dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center McGoogan Health Sciences Library. She previously served as Associate Dean and Education & Research Services Librarian at McGoogan Library and as Community Health Outreach Coordinator at the Network of the National Library of Medicine at the University of Washington. Emily has developed and delivered education programs on information literacy and health sciences evidence sources for trainers and learners at all levels in educational and clinical settings.

Isabel is a Senior Product Manager for Scopus, who works with teams of designers, researchers, and software developers to create data and analytics solutions. Isabel joined Elsevier after a career in strategy consulting. She is a graduate of University of Cambridge and recently relocated to Amsterdam. Isabel loves learning from the research community about what they need and how we can support them through our solutions.

Helen Josephine
Community Manager and Global Cohort Liaison, SciVal Certification Program and Scopus Certification Program
Helen Josephine joined the SciVal Certification Team in 2021 and the Scopus Certification Program team in 2018 after she retired from Stanford University in 2017 where she was head of the Terman Engineering Library for 10 years.
Her 40+ year career as a librarian included collection and research support in the corporate library at Intel in Santa Clara, collection development/reference/bibliographic instruction at Menlo College, Mission College and Foothill College in the San Francisco Bay Area, and providing fee-based information services at the University of Hawaii and Arizona State University. She earned her MLIS from the University of California, Berkeley and holds a Project Management Certification (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. She is also an active member of Toastmasters International and SLA.

Senior Customer Consultant, Research Intelligence
Charity joined Elsevier in 2017 as a Research Intelligence Customer Consultant covering the Eastern United States to advise in research management and analysis tools. She regularly consults research directors and managers on what they can do to improve their institutional research strategy utilizing Elsevier tools. Before coming to Elsevier, she was a chemist with Sigma-Aldrich and then became the lead in business development for their Stable Isotope division. She is a firm advocate of researchers helping researchers.
