The webinar introduces latest bibliometric developments of Elsevier within Scopus / Scopus AI and SciVal with a focus on research areas: Whereas Scopus AI revolutionizes the retrieval of a text-based summary on any research question applying Artificial Intelligence, Elsevier’s solution for publication analysis, SciVal, has recently come up with a new calculation of around 94,000 Research Topics of Prominence. Any research area, prominent or less prominent, is subject to a more and more pressing question by stakeholders in and outside of research: What societal impact can be seen from this specific research area?

Günther Hansen

Günther Hansen has been working in various roles at Elsevier for 14 years, currently serving as Solutions Account Manager for Research Intelligence in the markets of Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein. He is mainly responsible for Pure, SciVal, Scopus, and other publication-based analytics platforms. From 2004 to 2007, Günther was involved in the sales of translation rights for Science & Technology Books at Elsevier in Oxford, England. This was followed by a scientific position from 2008 to 2009 at the Leibniz Association, Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education (DIPF) in the field of Open Access. Günther holds a Master’s degree in German Studies and Educational Sciences (University of Stuttgart) as well as in Library and Information Management (HdM Stuttgart).
