Retirement Income Planning: Rules of Thumb... When and why the percentages don’t work

Saving enough money to be financially independent or retire is one of the top concerns that working Canadians have. Then there is the concern among pre-retirees and early retirees about running out of money before they run out of life. There are any number of shortcomings to these rules of thumb and approaches as I have noted over the many years in research backed seminars, articles and meetings with 1000s and 1000s of advisors and consumers.

This session touches on worries and wants, delving into a few of these rules of thumb and alternatives to consider when moving from saving to spending for the rest of one’s life.
