Tax rules have historically made it much less appealing for business owners to sell the shares of their company to a company owned by one of their children than to a third party. That is not true anymore. This presentation will provide an overview of the new intergenerational business transfer tax rules, the issues they solve for business owners and the opportunities they provide.

Through case studies, this presentation will also review a strategy that allows for tax-efficient business transfers called “estate freeze”. Attendees will learn how the flexibility provided by this strategy can be used to meet a variety of clients’ objectives.

After attending this presentation, attendees will better understand how life insurance can be a key component of a successful business transfer and which choice of products could best meet clients’ needs.
