While we rely tremendously on our eyes, we often take their health for granted. It is only when our vision becomes impaired that we fully realize the degree to which we depend on these complex, integral parts of our bodies. Vision problems are most often painless and slow to progress. Many factors can contribute to their development, including nutritional deficiencies, alcohol, drugs, physical strain, dental problems, poor posture, environmental pollution, harmful lighting, computer viewing eyestrain, and emotional stress. It is important for your clients and patients, particularly those who are aging, to be proactive with their eye health. Chronic eye diseases are not inevitable and can be prevented with proper nutritional support, which involves more than just eating a bunch of carrots. This talk will review the major eye diseases and discuss how to support eye health with proper nutrition.*
