Hybrid additive manufacturing (AM) and post-print process advances are increasing the already high design freedom and performance achievable with a novel AM/compression molding process—itself a hybrid—to produce structural carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) composite parts. Produced parts are cost competitive, allow for complex geometries and with higher flexibility to accommodate with low- to high-production volumes—becoming a competitive alternative to applications dominated by metals.
