With an ever-increasing demand for productivity combined with difficulty in finding qualified staff, the natural progression is to begin to look at automation to relieve some of the production pressure. Full feedback loop automation is a lofty goal but setting up that type of system can be very challenging and time-consuming. Improvements to collaborative robot systems is allowing manufacturers to look at smaller, specific, repetitive operations and begin to automate portions of the process with less investment of time and resources. Alan Miller will discuss the re-introduction of older technology that has new life as well as the technology products with features to start without feedback loops.
