Hemp cultivation is taking off around the world due to its unique environmental, climate change, health and rural development benefits. The event focused on the potential for growing Hemp for food, fuel, fibre, building materials, bio-plastics, health and dietary supplements and providing a new sustainable source of incomes for rural diversification and job creation. The event highlighted how Ireland can develop a unique position in the global market and maximise sustainable economic returns in particular providing a significant solution to carbon emissions from the agricultural sector.
