Victoria’s new environment protection legislation, the General Envirionmental Duty (GED) commences on 1 July 2021. This is the most significant reform to Victoria's state’s environment protection laws and regulations in the 50 years of the Victorian Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

Peter is currently part of the EPA/DELWP Contaminated Land Stakeholder Working Group – Subordinate Legislation Reform Program for the development of new Victorian environmental regulations.

Peter is also project managing EPA’s Small Business Pilot program for the VACC and Dry Cleaning Industry Association which covers implementation of the new Environmental Legislation across motor vehicle workshops and commercial dry cleaners.

Darren has been working in the environmental consulting industry for over 16 years specialising in project managing environmental assessments, including those for environmental audit, within the contaminated land field across Australia.

Darren’s project experience includes soil and groundwater assessments, soil and groundwater remediation, hydrogeology assessments, clean-up to the extent practicable reports, acid sulfate assessments, assessments for groundwater quality restricted use zone applications, peer review of environmental site assessment reports, project management, regulatory and community liaison, risk assessment, and asbestos in soil assessments.

Senior Principal - Risk Assessment (Health & Environment)
With 30 years’ experience in chemistry, environmental and human health toxicology, risk assessment, environmental auditing, and environmental and public health policy, Jean is a technical specialist in the assessment and management of risks from contaminated land, contaminated water, industrial wastes, industry and agriculture.

Jean has expertise in assessing risks from emerging contaminants such as PFAS and particulate pollution as well as more traditional environmental contaminants (e.g. heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, asbestos). Her chemistry and toxicology skills, plus extensive public health and research background, enables targeted identification and assessment of relevant information for emerging and established contaminants in soil, water and air.

Jean is also part of the EPA/DELWP Contaminated Land Stakeholder Working Group – Subordinate Legislation Reform Program for the development of new Victorian environmental regulations.
