Reskilling programs vs job redesigning: what is the best way forward in the digital economy?

In today’s digital economy, it is important to reskill and acquire the relevant skills to keep up with the latest technology. These could be in the space of digitalization, data analytics or design thinking. At the same time, we must make sure that we do not just reskill to keep up with the latest – that would be merely chasing after our own tails as technology keeps changing the way we work. As such, it is vital that we take a more proactive stance and look at what the future work looks like, and how might these jobs be redesigned to be ready for the future. The best way forward is to plan ahead, be aware of the ability to fully tap on technology as an enabler, and how might we best reskill our precious workforce to be ready for the future by redesigning jobs to be future ready.
