A talk by Barbara Karpinski. A trauma informed approach to everything is about 101 effective strategies and is based on my work interviewing traumatised subjects and dealing with audiences, subjects and my own boundaries and emotions when dealing with media segments that is traumatic in subject. Dealing with emotional outbursts in others and my own flashbacks and being effective as a media practitioner creates the need for additional skills and I talk about my lived experiences . Though this webinar is based on my media experience as a journalist, it is suitable for all people who may come in contact with traumatic stress reactions in themselves and others and want to understand a better practice model.
Her claims to fame now include film maker, journalist and artist. Her passion for educating others on surviving, thriving and recovery strategies are based on her lived experience.
Karpinski has a Masters in Journalism and is trained in counselling skills with a specialty in post-traumatic growth. She is also a former pole dancer and stand up comedian and adds a touch of humour to her talks.
