In insurance terms, few were hit harder than brokers in 2020. Almost overnight their means of communication with customers were so heavily disrupted that some predicted their end. You’ve got to hand it to them, even with calls for carriers around the world to develop direct, digital distribution methods, they’re still around and weathering the quite substantial storm. Many insurers gave substantial financial support to their agents and brokers over the course of the last year so there is still faith from the old guard yet that they still have a vital role to play in the insurance ecosystem. If brokers can take advantage of the opportunity in front of them, that is.
Brokers now have the chance to regain their place as a trusted advisor to their customers. To position themselves as the go-to professionals in the insurance market as they once were. There are many who still believe that in an increasingly tech-driven world, those who can find the balance between the digital and the human touch will be in pole position. Your brokers may be part of that ultimate solution so don’t discount them yet!
