Cost is incurred whenever there is an activity. It is a common tendency that while handling a crisis, people are quick to jump on “Cutting costs” and hardly they realize that by cutting cost, they are cutting activities.
Any activity is a combination of two aspects – Value adding and non-value adding portions. One has to identify the non-value adding aspect in the activities and try to mitigate or minimize it. This non-value adding activities are of 3 types or in other words termed as 3MUs because they are starting with letters MU when transliterated in the Japanese language. They are termed as Muda, Mura and Muri.
Roughly translated, Muda refers to Waste activities, Mura refers to inconsistency and Muri refers to Strain. We need to remember that this 3MUs is no problem per se, but are symptoms of the problem exists in the system. These 3MUs are closely knit, when one of them enters, the other two also enter easily into those processes!
In order to add value from the customers’ perspective, we have to remove these 3 MUs from corresponding processes. To do so, we first have to recognise/ identify them. This program aims to do precisely this: it strives to equip learners with the lens to see what is invisible today! Attend the webinar, get access to the lens, start hunting for the 3 MUs, and pave the way for waste-free processes!
Program Objectives
The objective of these programs is to make the attendees aware of the 3MUs (Muda, Mura, Muri), identify them, identify the causes for their presence and the ways to mitigate or minimize them.
