Poka-yoke is a Japanese term that means “mistake-proofing” or “ inadvertent error prevention” A Poka-yoke is any mechanism in any process that helps an equipment operator avoid mistakes.
The concept of Poka-yoke deals with Human error prevention and this was developed by
Dr. Shigeo Shingo.
The program explains basic approaches to mistake-proofing and three levels of Poka-yoke device. Its purpose is to eliminate product defects by preventing, correcting or drawing attention to human errors as they occur.
Participants will learn ways to implement Poka-yoke in the processes by understanding human error principles and achieve the goal of zero defect.
